In what is expected to be an explosive memoir, the book is an insider revelation of “secrets” inside Raila’s leadership life.
Though it is feared that details in the book could escalate propaganda against Raila currently touted by pollsters as an election front-runner, loyalists dismissed it as a collection of common half-truths already in public domain by a bitter man.
“In his explosive new memoir Peeling Back the Mask, Miguna assesses Mr Odinga’s leadership – questioning his credentials as a reformist,” read a message by the publisher on Thursday.
According to the publisher, the book presents a true insider account of the intrigues, discussions and power plays surrounding the leadership of the PM.
Speaking to The Standard, Miguna said he is set to travel to London on Sunday to attend a publisher’s pre-release promotion to be conducted in five countries.
“We plan to launch the book in London, Kenya, Canada, USA and South Africa later in July,” Miguna said. The international circulation of the book is calculated to attract wide attention because of Raila’s international repute and his Pan-African persona.
The official release of Peeling Back the Mask whose cover price is Sh3,345 (UK£ 24.95) in Kenya is scheduled for June 30.
Miguna fell out with Raila late last year after the premier ordered his suspension without pay.
The former confidante turned down his reinstatement sparking off an emotional falling out, which resulted in writing of the memoir.
